Hubio continues to deliver real-time digital efficiencies for Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance

March 2021: Hubio Technology (Hubio), a provider of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance solutions that enable frictionless transactions, is pleased to provide an update on Saskatchewan Mutual Insurance Company (SMI) role-out of real-time policy inquiry with their Brokers.

SMI chose Hubio’s collabor8 digital platform which supports real-time inquiries for all aspects of the business including underwriting, claims and finance.

The Inquiry function allows brokers to digitally request and receive an instant and accurate snapshot of their insured’s coverage, claims and billing details without ever leaving the broker’s Broker Management System (BMS). This is achieved through real-time integration of the BMS to SMI’s core transaction system via Hubio’s established collabor8 SaaS platform. The solution is a win-win, delivering efficiencies for SMI and giving their broker’s timely and accurate information to efficiently service their customers. The value of this digital capability was made even more vital during the current pandemic. Since the initial launch last Spring, Inquiry volumes have grown to over 800 per month, with further increases expected as the roll out progresses.

Shelley Willick, President and CEO of SMI applauds “We have received great feedback from our brokers and are achieving significant operational savings while delivering near immediate response times through the Inquiry Solution. We are on track to deliver the next phase with Hubio, which will continue our digital journey to better service our Brokers and Policyholders. With the ability to Quote and Issue Habitational policies as the next step in our journey, SMI is excited to continue to build upon this momentum.”

Beth Wiebe, Operations Coordinator with Cornerstone Insurance comments: “ We thrive on efficiencies and taking every opportunity to provide excellent customer service. Utilizing SMI’s Policy Inquiry has allowed us to enhance both of these areas. Accessing policy and payment information right from our BMS, in real time, with a click of the mouse, is a game changer! Instant access to the information we need for our customers eliminates the need to contact the SMI team for information in most cases. The time saved by utilizing this integration allows our brokers to assist more customers in the same amount of time, furthering our customers’ Wow Right Now experience with our brokerage”.

The solution is designed to adhere to the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada real-time data exchange principles using CSIO standards.

The launch of policy inquiry was the first of a multi-phase digital transformation at SMI. The program includes the use of Hubio’s collabor8, a multi-line P&C digital platform that increases broker and underwriter productivity via straight through processing and a slick User Experience (UX).
